Inspiration from a famous mobster
The legendary Al Capone, AKA Scarface, the child of an Italian immigrant family who rose to infamy as the head of the Chicago mafia during the Prohibition era. A strange combination of raw masculinity, a high sense of family values and a code of honor created the image of a man who was equally feared and admired.
One of the things I remember about the way this man looked is that he always wore a diamond “pinky” ring and when I was a young boy, I thought that this was both odd … and girlish! But at the same time, this characteristic platinum diamond ring was evidence of this man’s power and no movie has ever portrayed him without it.
As the years went by and men’s rings for became less bling and more raw, the thoughts I was having about creating a piece of jewelry, which would truly embrace the male, his way of being and his urge to construct, rebuild, investigate and reinvent slowly evolved into the Jewell concept. I am proud to present a new way of wearing a ring, that was originally inspired by the man whose name is, even today, known by all.
